300 Days!!!
Well guys that's it!
300 days of running a minimum of 5km's for the street kids of Pietermaritzburg.
We covered 2,193.22 km's.
We spent 280:58:21 h:m:s on the road.
We burnt up 107,313 calories.
We raised R21,686 for I Care.
We ended on a high note by running with a group of nice people from our church, followed by punch & snacks. Thanks to all involved. SOLI DEO GLORIA

Pete & Mark at the start of the 300 day challenge, outside the Wesley Methodist Church in Hayfields.
Pete Grassow and Mark Duncan have challenged themselves to run 300 days this year, for a minimum of 5km or half an hour each day. But why?! Well, it's their way of using their abilities to make a difference.
The aim is to raise R100 000 in 2012 for the I Care non-profit organisation, so that they can broaden their reach and get a centre established in Pietermaritzburg. I Care provide a sustainable solution to helping street kids - check it out here:http://www.icare.co.za/
So how can you help? If you can give R1 for every run they do, that will work out to R300 for the year. If we can raise enough awareness and get, say, a little over 300 people to do this, the R100 000 target will be reached pretty easily! You can donate safely online through their BackaBuddy site:http://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/irun4icare . You can also give cash if you'd prefer - contact Pete and Mark ([email protected]) and they can tell you how best to contribute. All funds raised go directly to I Care - there is a commitment to transparency and accountability here.
And if you're worried that they're extremely lazy and deceitful, you can follow their runs from this website: http://www.mapmytracks.com/iRun4iCare . Pete and Mark have GPS's which track their runs so you can see exactly where they've been and how fast!
